Leila Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the family of Panjali Teymurov in Astara
On November 21, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the family of Azerbaijan's National Hero Panjali Teymurov in Astara.
As Azertag reports, during the meeting, the memory of Panjali Teymurov, who became a martyr in the April battles, was respectfully honored, and his services to the Motherland, high professionalism, courage and bravery as a serviceman were discussed.
Then Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the house-museum created to perpetuate the memory of the martyr.
It should be noted that the legendary special forces scout Panjali Nurmukhammed oglu Teymurov, nicknamed "Goja," was born on March 24, 1981, in the village of Azarud in Astara district. After the army, Panjali, who continued his service in the special forces since 1999 when the Special Forces were established, honorably guarded the borders of the Motherland for 17 years. Warrant Officer Panjali Teymurov rose to the peak of martyrdom in 2016 during the April battles.
Panjali Teymurov, who was distinguished during his lifetime with numerous medals and awards for exemplary service, was posthumously awarded the "For the Motherland" medal in 2016. By the decree of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev of November 7, 2025, Panjali Teymurov was awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.
