Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of Iran

On February 6, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support of the Islamic Republic of Iran Aziz Nasirzadeh.

As reported by BAKU.WS, recalling the telephone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian that took place several days ago, the head of our state said that various high-level contacts create a good opportunity to discuss issues related to the bilateral agenda.

Emphasizing that the official visit of Masoud Pezeshkian to Azerbaijan last year was successful and good results were achieved, President Ilham Aliyev stated that relations between the two countries have developed following that visit.

Emphasizing that wars and conflicts continue in many parts of the world at present, the head of state said that peace in the South Caucasus has already been established through Azerbaijan's initiative. He expressed confidence that this is of great importance for both Azerbaijan and Iran, which borders Armenia. "We want there to be peace throughout the world, so that blood is not shed, so that there are no wars," said the President of Azerbaijan, emphasizing that our country's example demonstrates a model of transition from war to peace.

The head of state stated that, as he noted in the telephone conversation with the President of Iran, Azerbaijan is concerned about the current situation in the region and is ready to provide support in eliminating this tension.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Aziz Nasirzadeh first conveyed greetings from President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to the head of state. Reporting that he arrived in our country on the instruction of the head of state of Iran, the guest emphasized that Masoud Pezeshkian shows great commitment to Azerbaijan. He also noted that the President of Iran recalls his visits to our country, including to Khankendi, with great satisfaction.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked him for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the President of Iran as well.

During the conversation, the development of bilateral relations based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness between our countries was noted, and an exchange of views took place on prospects for cooperation in the defense sphere.
