President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on July 11 inspected the new building of the Yasəmən hotel in Shusha, restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

As reported by AZERTAC, Presidential Assistant Anar Alakbarov informed the head of state about the work carried out.

It should be noted that the opening of the Yasəmən hotel took place in 2023 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The exterior and interior of the Yasəmən hotel, restored in accordance with its original appearance, were designed in the medieval style of the city of Shusha. The building, constructed in the mid-19th century in the style of the Karabakh architectural school, was destroyed during the occupation. The design work on this building was carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and since 2023 — following restoration work — two buildings of the hotel have been welcoming guests. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation carried out restoration and construction work on four more buildings, which are the new wings of the Yasəmən hotel.

The restoration project was planned based on a new concept, taking into account the architectural features of ancient Shusha houses. In the new buildings, designed in a boutique concept, glazed verandas and terrace areas have also been created.

Based on archival photographs taken before the start of the restoration, doors and windows were recreated in accordance with the original architectural appearance of the building. Landscaping and greening work was carried out on the adjacent territory.
