Ilham Aliyev congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the congratulatory message reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I cordially congratulate you and, through you, your friendly nation on the occasion of a momentous anniversary – the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, and extend my best wishes.

The current level of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendly relations, which have rich traditions, is a source of satisfaction. Political dialogue, mutual high-level visits, and cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres are important aspects of our strategic partnership. I would particularly like to highlight the fruitful cooperation in the energy sector that has continued over many years.

I highly appreciate the results of your working visit to Azerbaijan in April of this year and our meeting with you. Undoubtedly, regular meetings and contacts, as well as mutual support on issues of territorial integrity and sovereignty of our countries, are the key factors driving the strengthening of interstate ties.

Active dialogue at the highest level creates favorable ground for deepening cooperation in various spheres, particularly in trade and economic, humanitarian, agricultural, investment, and other areas. We will continue to provide humanitarian support to the friendly people of Ukraine.
