Ilham Aliyev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the destroyed areas of the city of Fuzuli

On July 17, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the destroyed areas of the city of Fuzuli.

As reported by AZERTAG, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov familiarized himself with the General Plan of the city.

The Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, Emin Huseynov, informed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the destruction and acts of vandalism committed in the territory of Fuzuli district during the 30-year Armenian occupation, as well as about the ongoing and upcoming work in accordance with the General Plan of the city.

The distinguished guest was informed that the once densely populated and prosperous city of Fuzuli was completely looted and devastated during the Armenian occupation. After the liberation of our lands from occupation, the General Plan of the city of Fuzuli was prepared in a short time. It was approved by President Ilham Aliyev and presented to the public in 2021. Possessing great transport and logistics potential, Fuzuli is located at the intersection of the main transport arteries of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions. The total area of the city of Fuzuli is about 1942 hectares.

According to the General Plan, by 2040, the city is planned to have a population of 50,000 people. A Fuzuli Memorial Complex will be created in Fuzuli, which will include the Museums of Occupation and Victory, a Kurmangazy Creativity Center has been built here, a city hospital is under construction, a city park will be laid out, and large-scale landscaping and greening works are planned. According to the General Plan, social infrastructure facilities such as kindergartens and schools will be located at distances of 300 and 500 meters respectively. As a result of the work done, the city of Fuzuli, which will be built in an original style in accordance with modern architectural standards, will become one of the largest cities in the liberated territories. The "Smart City" concept will be applied here. The administrative center of the city of Fuzuli, which will cover an area of more than 12 hectares, will be divided into 3 parts.
