Relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan already bear the character of a strategic alliance.
As reported by BAKU.WS, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev stated this while answering journalists' questions during President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Uzbekistan:
"After the first contacts between our presidents in 2022, relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan reached a new level. Since that period, relations between the two states have evolved from strategic partnership to alliance, and now - to eternal friendship."
