Hikmet Hajiyev met with the Minister of Information of Syria in Shusha
Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev met on July 13, within the framework of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum, with Syria's Minister of Information Khaled Fawaz Zaarour and Deputy Minister for Digital Media Mohammed Tafran.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the meeting noted with satisfaction the successful development of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Syria in all spheres.
The important role of meetings between the leaders of the two countries and the visit of the Syrian president to Azerbaijan in the development of relations between our countries was particularly emphasized. Issues of cooperation between our countries in the field of information and media were also discussed.
Hikmet Hajiyev expressed gratitude to Syria's Minister of Information for participating in the Shusha Global Media Forum. He noted that next year Azerbaijan will assume the chairmanship of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and will host the Organisation's Summit. The presidential assistant also informed that within this framework, a meeting of information ministers of OIC member states will be held in Azerbaijan, and invited the Syrian minister to participate in this event.
During the conversation, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria in the cultural-humanitarian and educational spheres were also touched upon, and the project of Azerbaijan's support for the repair and restoration of schools in Syria within the framework of ICESCO was highly appreciated. It was noted that this is an example of friendship between our countries.
At the meeting, Azerbaijan's consistent support for the political unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria was highly appreciated.
