Deputy: Statements by Russian officials directed at Azerbaijan entail legal liability
Statements, remarks, and actions of Russian officials regarding Azerbaijan provoke confrontation and entail legal responsibility.
Report was informed about this by MP Jeyhun Mammadov.
According to him, despite repeated warnings from Azerbaijan, the Russian side continues to take steps that could damage relations between the two countries. The MP noted that such statements are consistent with neither international law nor bilateral relations.
"The remarks made by Russian officials and a correspondent on the TV channel 'Moscow 24' are yet another vivid example of this. In general, interference in the internal affairs of another state, calls for amendments to the Constitution constitute a serious violation of law and entail legal responsibility," J. Mammadov emphasized.
He noted that Azerbaijan has repeatedly brought to the attention of the Russian side that officials and TV channels of that country should be careful with their statements and remarks.
"Such behavior, remarks, and statements provoke confrontation and entail legal responsibility. Azerbaijan is also taking steps to hold these individuals accountable in accordance with the requirements of international law," the MP added.
J. Mammadov believes that the Russian side should put a stop to such statements and take serious measures against individuals who make such statements.
"On the one hand, Russia declares good relations with Azerbaijan, and on the other hand, it puts forward various accusations against our country. It is necessary to put an end to such steps and work on developing bilateral relations," the MP stated.
