Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov today met with Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ünal Üstel.

During the meeting, the current state of relations and development prospects between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in a number of areas were discussed.

The intensity of mutual visits at the highest level, the development of cooperation through inter-parliamentary relations and political parties were positively assessed.

The importance of expanding ties in the humanitarian sphere, especially in the areas of culture and tourism, was noted.

The importance of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was emphasized, and the contribution of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the organization's activities as an observer was noted.

The significance of the meeting of heads of government/vice-presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku was discussed.

The importance of the event was emphasized in terms of strengthening intergovernmental coordination within the OTS and more effectively advancing the common agenda on priority areas defined by the heads of state.
