A roundtable on the peace strategy of President Ilham Aliyev was held in Baku
A roundtable on the topic "President Ilham Aliyev's Peace Strategy - A Guarantee of Stability" was held in Baku on the initiative of the Media Development Agency (MEDİA).
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, Deputy Executive Director of the Agency Natig Mammadli emphasized in his speech the need for Azerbaijani media to actively promote ideas of peace at the international level.
According to him, this task is consistent with all principles of media ethics:
"A false news story spreads six times faster than a true one. Even when a fake is debunked, it does not have the same effect as the spread of false information. The main goal of our media is to promote peace and tell the truth. We must disseminate our thoughts about peace at the most professional level possible," Mammadli said.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Tofig Zulfugarov, for his part, warned that various external centers continue to harbor insidious plans against Azerbaijan and its allies. For this reason, he emphasized, the media must maintain maximum vigilance amid these processes.
The ex-minister added that Azerbaijan is the initiator of the peace agenda in the region: "Armenia has also joined the process in one form or another. However, contradictory statements that do not correspond to the peace agenda are sometimes heard in Armenia."
Member of Parliament Fariz Ismailzade noted that Azerbaijan has established itself as a reliable partner in the South Caucasus. In his assessment, some destructive forces are seeking to undermine the peace process by exploiting internal political disagreements in Armenia ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Member of Parliament Rizvan Nabiyev stated that recent high-level visits to Azerbaijan demonstrate that the country is a reliable partner amid global processes.
Historian Rizvan Huseynov noted that France has turned its gaze toward the South Caucasus. However, in his conviction, Paris's attempts to use Armenia as a tool for advancing its interests in the region are doomed to failure.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session with media representatives.
