At the Baku Book Center, with the participation of famous figures of science, culture, and public life of our country, a musical and literary evening titled "Joy of Victory" was held, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of achieving the historical Victory in the Patriotic War.

Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva and head of the Baku Media Center Arzu Aliyeva attended the event.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAGZh, at the beginning of the event, a moment of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom of our Homeland and the integrity of our lands.

Opening the event, the director of the Baku Book Center, Gunel Rzayeva, noted that the heroism of our martyrs has always been a source of pride for our people. She noted that the liberation of our lands, which had been under enemy occupation for almost thirty years, by our valiant Army under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and the restoration of our country's territorial integrity is the most glorious page in the history of our independent statehood.

The secretary of the Writers Union of Azerbaijan, Ilgar Fahmi, spoke about the moral significance of the Victory achieved in the Patriotic War for our people, and the role of the courage and heroism of martyrs as an example for future generations.

At the event, the father of martyr Rovshan Nurzade - People's Artist Ali Nur, the wife of the commander of the Azerbaijan Special Forces group, Hero of the Patriotic War, martyr-warrant officer Jamal Ismayilov - Fatima Ismayilova, as well as the mother of the Hero of the Patriotic War, martyr-major Elchin Mansurov, - Maleyka Majidova, addressed the audience.

Then the event continued with the artistic part. Soloists from the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, and the choir named after Jahangir Jahangirov of the International Mugham Center performed a number of folk and composer works.

The event featured a video reflecting the heroic scenes of the Azerbaijani army during the 44-day Patriotic War, footage of liberated cities and villages, as well as the perpetuation of the memory of martyrs.
