The star of "Arshin Mal Alan" celebrates 78th anniversary

People's Artist Leyla Shikhlinskaya turns 78 years old.
As reported by BAKU.WS, actress, ballet master, choreographer and teacher Leyla Shikhlinskaya was born on June 12, 1947 in Moscow.
She graduated from ballet school, and then from the theater studies faculty of GITIS.
In the film "Arshin Mal Alan" (1965), she created a memorable image of Gulchokhra.
In addition, her filmography includes such films as "Dacha Season" (1985) - Amina, "Force of Attraction" (1964) - Nargiz, "Dede Gorgud" (1975) - Banuchichek, "The Day Has Passed" (1971) - Esmer, "Shore of Memories" (1972) - Rena, "Window of Sorrow" (1986) - Zeynab, "Golden Goose" (1972) - Shafiga, "Muslim Magomaev Sings" (1971) - Tatyana Larina, "First Hour of Life" (1973) - Azer's beloved.
As a teacher and choreographer, she worked with the USSR Olympic gymnastics teams. For many years, she taught at the choreographic school of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.
Leyla Shikhlinskaya is also the author of more than 100 scientific articles on the history and development of choreography and ballet art in Azerbaijan. Since 1992, she has been the artistic director of the experimental ballet creative center "Sheila" founded by her in Moscow.
Shikhlinskaya was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR, and from 1990-1992 she worked as a ballet master of the "Diaghilev Ballet" troupe.
Although Leyla Shikhlinskaya's life was connected with art, her family was predominantly doctors. Childhood spent in this environment prompted her to create the Leyla Shikhlinskaya Clinic in 1999.
This medical institution became one of the first private clinics in Azerbaijan. In 1987, she received a PhD in Art History, and later - a Doctor of Art History degree.
In 1993, she was awarded the honorary title "Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan," and in 1998 - the honorary title "People's Artist".
